A brand that started in 2016

Alera was born in 2016 at the hands of Alera Nikolaou, who had spent her whole life sewing and altering clothes for the women around her. Over the years, she had heard the same complaint a thousand times: beautiful clothes almost never fit well, and the ones that fit well are almost never beautiful.

So she started making the garments people asked her for and couldn't find in any store.

What matters to us

That the garment truly fits. We design every pattern by looking at how it falls on a real body, not on a mannequin. The goal is for you to put it on and not have to keep adjusting it.

That the construction lasts. We take care of the finishes, seams, and fabrics so that the garment stays the same after many washes.

That it flatters. We work on the cuts, lengths, and proportions to create a harmonious silhouette.

How we work

We prefer to make a few garments and make them well. Every design is tested before it hits the store, and if it's not convincing, it doesn't go out.
